Sweeney Todd Designs by Froggy-Spaztastic Sweeney Todd Designs by Froggy-Spaztastic
Some proposed designs for my school's upcoming production of Sweeney Todd. These aren't designs for the main cast (I'll put those up when I get the chance), but rather are ensemble concepts. My director wanted a blend of dark Victorian, steampunk, and 1980's/70's punk fashion. Needless to say, I'm a tad lost as to exactly what to do at the moment. Oh well. XD

Wow, and this isn't even the main cast? These look great! I think they fit the mishmash of styles very well. :)

Tank yoo. ^^

Nope, still need to get the main cast done. 8 more of those left before I'll put them up on here. I'm sure my director would like that to happen fairly soon though. Whoops. XD

Those designs look AMAZING. Any idea on WHEN exactly the play is going to be?... I graduated last year and have been looking for an excuse to go back there. ^^; College is tough.

Keep up the good work!

I'm guessing you mean 18th, 19th and 20th?...

And don't worry. I never much paid attention to school-related events either. ^^; Thankfully I knew at least a few people in band and drama who could let me know what I would be missing. I had the chance to see "Tommy" and "A Christmas Carol", which were both really well-done.

I look forward to seeing Sweeney Todd!

I think you did a great job mixing those somewhat unconnected looks into a cohesive design. Also, for an ensemble design I think you did a great job of making them individual enough that they aren't all sheep while still keeping blending them all together into a background group. Nice job.

These look really great! Whenever a director gives me something crazy like that, I just do LOTS of research, then look at it all and try to find something that goes well together. (If you need any more inspiration for other characters) You did a great job blending those elements, though!

My one suggestion would be that if these charas are "generic ensemble" you may want to have a colour palette that unites them as a group (like all blues, or muted cool colours, etc.) Also, be careful that they don't become more interesting than the main cast. (i.e. maybe take away some accessories) Just a suggestion from experience, but I think they look really fabulous!

Thank you and especially thank you for the suggestions! When we get around to actually dressing the cast I'm sure the costumes will become much simpler (don't need actors smacking themselves around with chunks of metal. That would be bad. o_o) and I'm positive the color palette will come together when we see what we can truly work with. Again, thank you!!

Well, for someone who doesn't know what she's doing, you sure did an awesome job on the designs, Halston. Splendid work. I think you blended your director's rather scattered directions quite well. xD

but you would have to make one look like me too.

Do you know how to look for people on here? Sinclair made an account, but I don't know how to look for it: Rice-clair .

Click up top at "Friends" , then "Add/Remove",
Then look at the right side and type it in.

And maybe she should design and you should make something for me too...

But then what would I do in return for that...?

These are really cool, Halston!

The guy in the green vest reminds me of Brendon Urie from Panic! At the Disco, but i don't know why. :/
